"Group Your Life Inventory"

"Where you are today does not dictate where you will be tomorrow."  Oh, thank you Lord!  There is hope and encouragement - to keep plugging on and to keep striving to be more like Jesus.

We've seen the prayer before:  "God grant me the serenity to..."  Darlene uses this prayer to help us put our to-do lists in each category.

  • The things I cannot change.
  • The things I can.
  • The wisdom to know the difference.
Each of us have daily tasks that will be there day in and day out no matter what.  Cooking, dishes, laundry, messes, homework and more.  We can't change these things.  But what can we change?  Well, we most definitely can change what outside influences gobble up our precious time.  Cut the TV off for the day and suddenly, you have a lot more time to do the more important things.  Social media, the internet, texting and more can rob of us of our time.

In the end, if we decide that our faith and family are our top two priorities, then we need to make our to-do lists reflect that.  And pray to God to keep us focused on these things first above all else.  If we have as our motive our top priorities, then the important things will get done.

Here are some verses to reflect on today and to use for our SOAP study:

Proverbs 16:2-3 NIV
All a person's ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Matthew 6:33 NLT
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

So our to-do lists from now on need to have a new look.  Need some help prioritizing your day?  Check out these printable calendars:
